We are proud to announce that on October 9th, William Kaelin Jr and his daughter visited the Hagströmer Library for a guided tour.
He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2019 together with Sir Peter J. Ratcliffe and Gregg L. Semenza “for their discoveries of how cells sense and adapt to oxygen availability”.
The presentation was held by Curator Anna Lantz and included books related to the discovery of oxygen by C. W. Scheele, J. Priestley, and A. Lavoisier, together with other highlights from the library.
In connection to their visit, Kaelin kindly signed a copy of one of his key publications, which is now part of the Hagströmer Library´s Nobel collection.
Their visit was made possible through collaboration with the Nobel Committee for Physiology or Medicine.
